Hi! I'm Beth, a 2nd year PA student at UTMB. A little background on me; I am from the heart of Georgia, Macon, GA that is. I graduated from Mercer University in 2014 with a bachelor's in biology and a minor in chemistry (Go BEARS!). I got married in March of 2015 to the love of my life, Chris Thompson. We moved to Texas in April of 2015 and adopted a beautiful, loving, and crazy Husky, Abby. I was accepted into UTMB PA school December 2014 and began in July 2015. It has been the most difficult thing I have ever done, but well worth it. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. I knew that medicine was my calling when I was young. Many of you know, but I'm sure some of you don't, that I was in a traumatic accident when I was 6 years old and it resulted in the loss of my right kidney. Through many prayers, the doctors and medical staff at what used to be the Children's hospital in Macon, GA my life was saved. It has inspired me to do the same for others and give them a second chance at life like I was given and share the love of Jesus while doing so.
As many of you know, Elizabeth and I decided to go to Guatemala to help provide for the medical needs of the people here. We are currently sitting on our terrace in Antigua Bay enjoying the view. I would like to say thank you to everyone who donated towards this trip, especially the people of Gordon First Baptist and Houston First Baptist. It will be greatly appreciated by the people here. We cannot wait to share with you the blessings that we will receive from working and serving those in need

. Thank you for the prayers and support!
Until tomorrow,
-Beth
